The Bridgeton Fire Department, as the local enforcing agency, is responsible for enforcement of the Uniform Fire Safety Act within the City of Bridgeton, New Jersey. Inspections are performed annually for life hazard and non-life hazards uses. Permits are issued by the Fire Official. All businesses within the City of Bridgeton must register with the Bureau.

Chief Schoch serves as the appointed fire official and seven firefighters are currently certified as inspectors. Inspectors work 24-hour shifts and may not be available every weekday. However, if you need to reach an inspector, you may leave a voice mail. Additionally, the fire department secretary is available Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to assist in any fire inspection matters.
