Station 7-2 opened in April 2008 due to a
prolonged bridge construction project on Broad
Street. The construction hampered response
times to the western part of the City. In
response, Station 7-2, located on the west
side of the Cohansey River, operates when traffic
congestion is high, from 8am to 2am. In
addition to the Chief, an Engine Company is staffed
with a Lieutenant and one or two firefighters.
Two EMTs also staff a BLS ambulance at Station 7-2
from 6am to 2am.
After 8pm, the Engine Company relocates
to headquarters until 8am the following morning. |
